Capitol Hill, Monrovia — Representative Jerry K. Yogboh Sr. has announced plans to submit a proposal to the Plenary of the House of Representatives calling for the formulation and adoption of a 25-Year National Development Plan (2026–2051) aimed at guiding Liberia’s long-term growth and transformation.
According to Rep. Yogboh, the proposed plan would serve as a comprehensive framework to ensure strategic continuity, economic stability, and inclusive national development across successive administrations.
He emphasized that the plan would:
1. Ensure strategic continuity across different governments by maintaining focus on core national priorities.
2. Promote economic and social stability through alignment of all development initiatives under a unified vision.
3. Build confidence among investors and development partners, showcasing Liberia’s commitment to long-term growth.
4. Foster equitable growth and decentralization, ensuring inclusive participation from all counties.
5. Guarantee environmental and resource sustainability for future generations.
6. Strengthen national unity and accountability, providing a shared blueprint for progress regardless of political affiliation.
Rep. Yogboh said he would seek the support of his colleagues to mandate the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) to lead broad consultations and coordinate the drafting process. The plan, he added, would involve key stakeholders, including government institutions, private sector actors, academia, civil society organizations, and international partners.
He described the initiative as a landmark step toward ensuring Liberia’s sustained national transformation beyond short-term political cycles.
