Monrovia, May 13, 2025 – The Liberty Party, a major constituent of the ruling Unity Party Alliance, has marked its 20th anniversary with a grand celebration in Monrovia, spotlighting its founding values and honoring the legacy of its late political leader, Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine.
The ceremony, held in the capital, featured the official unveiling of Cllr. Brumskine’s portrait and the dedication of a memorial hall named in his honor. Party officials and supporters hailed Brumskine as a towering figure in Liberia’s democratic evolution and praised his enduring influence on the Party’s direction.
Also during the event, the Party named two of its major offices after key figures in its current leadership. The main conference room was designated the Eugene Fallah Kpaka Conference Room, while the Secretariat Office was renamed in honor of Political Leader Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence.
In her remarks, Senator Karnga-Lawrence reaffirmed the Party’s commitment to democratic ideals, pledging to uphold the legacy of Cllr. Brumskine through continued advocacy for the rule of law, transparency, and inclusiveness in governance. She emphasized the need for unity and forward-looking leadership as the Party enters its third decade.
Celebrated under the theme, “Liberty Party: 20 Years of Democratic Legacy to Cherish,” the event brought together current and former party executives, government officials, and international partners. The milestone was also seen as a moment of introspection and recommitment to the Party’s founding principles.
As it moves forward, the Liberty Party pledged to deepen its role in national development and political reform. Officials stressed that the ideals of Cllr. Brumskine will continue to guide their mission to create a Liberia where liberty, justice, and opportunity are realities for all.
