Cestos City, River Cess County – Former Public Works Minister Ruth Coker Collins has officially launched the Tabitha Vocational Training Institute in Cestos City, a transformative initiative aimed at empowering the youth and women of River Cess County through hands-on vocational education.
The well-attended ceremony drew local leaders, educators, and community stakeholders, all united in support of a vision to uplift the county's younger generation through skill development and job creation.
Madam Collins, known for her unwavering commitment to education and grassroots development, stressed that the institute was established solely to serve the interest of the community and carries no political agenda. She emphasized that vocational training is a powerful tool to combat poverty and unemployment, especially in rural counties like River Cess.
“Our mission is to equip young people with practical skills that will enable them to become self-sufficient, innovative, and productive members of society,” she stated.
She also used the occasion to rally citizens of River Cess around a shared vision of unity and progress. “Together, we can rebuild River Cess into a county that produces giants brilliant and talented youth ready to contribute meaningfully to Liberia’s development,” she declared.
Reaffirming her commitment to youth empowerment, Madam Collins pledged to collaborate with all sons and daughters of the county to provide training opportunities that will change lives and strengthen the future of River Cess.
The launch of the Tabitha Vocational Training Institute marks a significant milestone in efforts to foster sustainable development in one of Liberia’s most underserved regions.
