The Liberia National Police (LNP) has secured a court-issued search warrant to comb business desk spots at the World Trade Center, beginning at 6:00 a.m., in connection with alleged forgery, theft, impersonation, and the production of falsified documents.
The operation, targeting phones, laptops, and other electronic devices, is focused on individuals identified as Momo Kaidi, Edwin W. Tuolay, Thomas Wesee, Josephine David, Sam Karyah, Sami King, Prince Threach, David, and others are yet to be named.
According to the writ, the suspects are accused of producing fake documents affecting universities, government and private institutions, high schools, police clearances, travel documents, official stamps and seals, and court records. Authorities say the search is based on security intelligence aimed at collecting evidence, arresting suspects, and ensuring prosecution under the law.
Former World Trade Center president Mustapha S. Mensah told reporters the security sweep resulted in at least 300 arrests, with detainees taken to LNP headquarters and contacting their lawyers. He also alleged, citing a “reliable source,” that the writ authorizing the search was not issued by the court.
