The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has strongly refuted claims made on the OK Morning Rush radio program regarding its alleged involvement with a package containing Moringa. In a press release issued on August 4, 2025, the Ministry described the claims as "false and misleading."
The Ministry clarified that it has not received, processed, or posted any items resembling Moringa under the current administration. The issue in question dates back to 2018, during the tenure of the George Weah administration, and was investigated by the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA).
The LDEA's investigation found that the tested substance was free of narcotics or any harmful chemicals, as confirmed in an official communication dated September 27, 2018. The Ministry attached a copy of the LDEA's findings to support its position.
The Ministry explained that the package in question had been in storage for over six years, leading to foul odors and logistical constraints within postal facilities. As part of a routine cleanup, the Ministry recently disposed of overstayed mailable items, including the spoiled Moringa, which had deteriorated due to poor storage conditions.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to accountability and urged the public to verify information before drawing conclusions or spreading unsubstantiated claims. The Ministry stated that the item had lost all commercial or personal value and was therefore considered debris.
