MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Government of Liberia through the Deputy Information Minister, Daniel O. Sando has rejected claims by former Solicitor General Cllr. Sayma Syrenius Cephus that the country is sinking into economic hardship and worsening living conditions, describing his assertions as misleading and untrue.
Deputy Information Minister Daniel Sando said Cephus’ remarks were “deceptive, untrue, and unacceptable,” stressing that Liberia has made notable progress under President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s leadership.
“People once stood in long queues just to buy rice and gasoline, but today, prices are stable and supplies are available,” Sando told reporters. “Civil servants are receiving their salaries on time, roads are being constructed, and electricity is more reliable.”
Sando argued that Cephus and other officials from the past administration created many of the problems Liberia faces today, adding that the former Solicitor General is attempting to mislead the public and downplay the government’s gains.
“We are focused on moving the country forward,” Sando said, urging Liberians not to be swayed by what he described as politically motivated criticisms.
