Monrovia, Liberia - Dr. Josiah F. Joekai, Jr., Director-General of Liberia's Civil Service Agency (CSA), has been invited to facilitate at the Second Africa-Caribbean Ministers of Health Meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on September 5-6, 2025.
The meeting, hosted by Ethiopia's Ministry of Health and co-organized by the African Union Commission, CARICOM Secretariat, and Health Development Partnership for Africa and the Caribbean (HeDPAC), will bring together over 70 ministers and global health leaders to advance Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and foster South-South collaboration.
As Chairperson of the Health and Public Service Network of Africa (HaPSNA), Dr. Joekai will highlight Liberia's success in integrating Community Health Workers (CHWs) into the formal public service, a model that has garnered international attention.
Dr. Joekai will also present an update on HaPSNA's efforts to strengthen health and public service delivery across Africa, including workforce development, policy alignment, and regional knowledge exchange.
The CSA has praised Dr. Joekai's leadership, saying Liberia's public service reforms are being showcased on the global stage in the spirit of Pan-Africanism and solidarity.
