Nimba County – As Nimba County prepares for its upcoming Senatorial by-election, the Inspector General of Police, Gregory Coleman, has issued a stern warning. This warning is aimed at individuals allegedly planning to disrupt the electoral process.
Addressing journalists in a media engagement in the county, IG Coleman revealed that security forces have received intelligence. It points to attempts by external actors to infiltrate the county and provoke unrest, hence security tightened across all checkpoints.
“These are not residents of Nimba,” Coleman stated. “They are coming in to stir trouble, but we are fully aware of their movements and intentions.”
The Police Chief assured the public that robust security arrangements have been implemented across the county. This is to ensure the election proceeds peacefully and transparently.
He called on citizens to remain law-abiding and encouraged full cooperation with security personnel to safeguard the democratic process, especially now that security tightened measures are in place.
