The Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Mr. Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, formally dedicated a new onsite clinic at the Ministry’s headquarters today, describing the facility as a “paramount” investment in the health and welfare of its employees.
Speaking at the ribbon‑cutting ceremony, Minister Ngafuan underscored the demanding nature of the Ministry workplace, likening it to a “pressure cooker” driven by the intensity and volume of daily responsibilities.
The newly established clinic will serve as a first point of care for staff requiring prompt medical attention during working hours, reducing the need for offsite referrals for minor ailments and emergencies.
The clinic is equipped with two short‑stay wards, one for male and one for female employees, the facility also houses a fully stocked pharmacy and dedicated medical examination rooms to manage routine check‑ups and treat minor cases on the spot.
“I am delighted to see this project come to fruition,” said Minister Ngafuan. “Ensuring our team’s health and safety is critical to maintaining the high standards of service expected at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.”
He extended his gratitude to the Department of Administration, led by Deputy Minister Bill McGill Jones, for overseeing the clinic’s construction and outfitting.
With the onsite clinic now operational, the Ministry anticipates quicker response times for staff health issues, improved workplace morale, and enhanced overall productivity.
