Hon. Wokie K. Dolo, former Representative Candidate of Electoral District #6, Montserrado County has openly condemned Representative Samuel R. Enders' action of physically assaulting a Chinese national known as Liberian Lee.
The condemnation comes days after Representative Enders was seen in a video evidence pulling a Chinese businessman man outside of his property that was allegedly encroached on.
Madam Dolo through the official Facebook page, condemned the action from District #6 Representative, Hon. Samuel Enders and said his physical assault as a Representative is a direct violation of the rule of law.
"As a former Representative candidate for Electoral District #6, Montserrado County, I feel compelled to address the recent actions of our current Representative, Rev. Samuel R. Enders. The disturbing incident involving his physical assault on a Chinese businessman is not only unacceptable but also undermines the principles of governance and respect that we must uphold in our community." Hon. Wokie Dolo expressed.
She noted that violence has no place in the political discourse of the district, as such; Rep. Enders’ actions reflect a grave misunderstanding of the responsibilities entrusted to him as an elected official of District #6, Montserrado County and Liberia at large.
The former Representative Candidate of District #6, Montserrado County stated that dialogue and understanding is the hallmark of any growing tension, rather than resorting to physical aggression that only exacerbates tensions and sets a dangerous precedent.
Hon. Wokie Dolo emphasized that Representative Enders’ actions contravene the principles for the rule of law and raise serious questions about his ability to represent District #6 effectively.
She at the same time urged the Lawmaker to focuse on addressing the issues faced by District #6, Montserrado County, and not resorting to violence against others.
"As someone who wants the best for our community and district, I believe we must implement effective policies that prioritize the welfare of all residents. I recommend that the lawmaker and residents pay close attention to the followings:
Establishing Open Forums: Create platforms for dialogue between residents and local businesses, ensuring that all voices are heard. This will foster mutual respect and collaboration.
1. Advocating for Transparent Regulations: Support clear regulations governing both local and foreign enterprises to ensure compliance with legal standards. This will protect our economy and create a fair playing field for all.
2. Implementing Dispute Resolution Programs: Introduce initiatives aimed at resolving conflicts peacefully. Training community members in conflict resolution can help prevent future incidents and promote understanding.
3. Launching Public Awareness Campaigns: Educate the public on their rights and the importance of peaceful engagement. Such initiatives can empower residents to advocate for themselves without resorting to violence.
4. Establishing Oversight Committees: Create independent committees to monitor the behavior of elected officials, ensuring they adhere to ethical standards and the law." Hon. Dolo outlined.
She noted that it is only through collaborative efforts that District #6 can be built, emphasizing on working together where the district can thrives on dialogue, understanding, and mutual respect, free from the shadows of violence and intimidation.
