The National Youths League of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) terms the judiciary system under the Boakai-Koung administration as being politicized.

CDC National Youths League has termed the judiciary system as being politicized under the Boakai-Koung administration.
“It has become increasingly alarmed by recent developments that suggest a deliberate attempt by the current administration, led by President Joseph Boakai, to undermine the rule of law and use the judicial system for political gains.
These actions, if left unchecked, could erode the trust in our democratic institutions and destabilize the country’s fragile peace and unity.”
The statement quotes the Youth League of CDC.According to the CDC youth League, there are concerted efforts by the Boakai administration to weaponize the judicial system in an attempt to unlawfully evict the Coalition for Democratic Change from its rightful headquarters and said that the move appears to be politically motivated, aimed at destabilizing the CDC and weakening its organizational structure.
“We firmly believe that the judiciary must remain impartial, independent, and free from political manipulation; they further.
The attempted eviction is a direct affront to the principles of justice and fairness upon which our judicial system should stand. The CDC will not stand idly by as the rule of law is subverted for political expediency.” CDC Youth League laminated.
In addition, the CDC youths league alleged that the release of individuals involved in criminal activities under suspicious circumstances, are being emboldened and may be used to target senior members of CDC.
The Group called on the Boakai’s administration to immediately halt these politically motivated maneuvers, alleged and said CDC remains committed to the principles of peace, democracy, and justice, and also said that the safety of their members are guaranteed by the government.
Meanwhile, the National Youth League of the Coalition Democratic Change said they are concerned about recent reports of budget tampering by certain elements within the government and said these actions have serious implications for the allocation of resources and the overall development of our nation.
At the same time the group the CDC National Youth League is calling on all it’s members to convene at a special meeting on September 14, 2024, Saturday, to strategize on how to address this critical issue. “Following this meeting, we will organize a peaceful march to the National Legislature to engage with our lawmakers on the issue of budget tampering” they further.
We intend to make our voices heard and ensure that the resources of this nation are used transparently and in the best interest of all Liberians.” CDC Youth League disclosed.
In conclusion, they called on all well-meaning Liberians, civil society organizations, and the international community to take note of the recent developments and join them in safeguarding the nation’s democratic principles and said Liberia’s progress and stability depend on a fair and just system where the rule of law prevails over political machinations.
