Commissioner Anthony Brown Urges Boy’s Town Marketers to Relocate to Designated Market Area.

By: Edwin N. Wleh Jr.

Margibi County District #1 Commissioner, Hon. Anthony Brown, issued a direct mandate today to marketers in Boy’s Town, urging them to use the designated market area rather than selling along the road. The mandate was made during a press briefing held in Schieffelin Township.

Commissioner Brown emphasized the importance of utilizing the market space for transactions, highlighting the need to maintain the beauty and orderliness of the streets, especially as Liberia prepares to host international guests and investors.

The Commissioner further expressed his concern over the current situation, noting that market activities along the road not only pose safety risks but also detract from the town’s aesthetic appeal. He urged the marketers to move to the Boy’s Town Junction market, which has been established to accommodate their business activities.

In response to the concerns raised, Commissioner Brown reassured the media that land has been purchased along Marshall Road to provide additional space for those who do not currently have a spot in the market. This move is intended to ensure that all vendors have a place to conduct their business in an organized manner.

Meanwhile, during the briefing, Mr. Fredrick D. Johnson, a local resident, called on Commissioner Brown to collaborate with the management of the Boy’s Town market to establish a proper waste disposal system. Johnson stressed the importance of keeping the market area clean and free from waste, which would further enhance the town’s appearance.

At the same time Commissioner Brown acknowledged this concern and announced that a major cleanup campaign would be launched at Boy’s Town Junction. He disclosed that the cleanup will commence on Monday, August 12, and urged all residents and business owners to participate in the effort.

Mr. Brown concluded by reiterating his commitment to ensuring that Boy’s Town remains an attractive and safe environment for both residents and visitors. He expressed confidence that with the cooperation of the community, the town can set a positive example for other districts in Margibi County.
