The Civil Service Agency (CSA) of Liberia has officially launched its 2025-2029 Strategic Plan. The plan is designed to modernize the country’s civil service and support the government’s ARREST (Accountability, Rule of Law, Reform, Equity, Security, and Transparency) agenda. Director-General Dr. Josiah F. Joekai, Jr. presented the plan during a press conference, outlining its objectives and vision for the future.
The new strategic plan focuses on key areas such as capacity building, policy reform, technological advancement, and stakeholder engagement. These pillars aim to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of civil service delivery across the nation. This will ensure that government operations meet international standards and the needs of the Liberian public.
Dr. Joekai highlighted the importance of the plan in fostering a transparent and accountable civil service. “Our goal is to create an efficient civil service that is capable of delivering high-quality services to our citizens. This strategic plan equips our workforce with the tools and training necessary to achieve that,” he stated.
A significant component of the initiative involves the implementation of a comprehensive training program to improve the skills of civil servants at all levels. The CSA is dedicated to bridging existing gaps in service delivery and management. This will ultimately enhance the overall quality of public service.
In addition, the CSA plans to introduce modern technological systems to streamline operations and better manage data. This will contribute to improved governance.
The agency is also committed to fostering collaboration with civil society organizations and international partners. This is to uphold standards of transparency and accountability.
The launch of the strategic plan is seen as a pivotal step in Liberia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen democratic governance and rebuild trust in public institutions. The CSA is poised to play a vital role in this transformation. They invite all citizens to participate in the process as Liberia moves towards a more efficient and responsive civil service.
