Monrovia, Liberia — July 6, 2026 — The Office of Senate President Pro-Tempore Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence has confirmed the selection of five journalists from Grand Bassa County to participate in a month-long media training program in Nigeria scheduled for July 2026.
The selected media practitioners from Grand Bassa County are expected to join other journalists from Monrovia to form a national delegation that will represent Liberia in the capacity-building initiative.
The Grand Bassa journalists selected for the program include:
1. Alexander Musa, Manager of Radio Dukpa
2. Alexander Piah, Executive Director of Empire TV and Radio Gbehzohn News Director
3. Darius Zoryea, News Director at Ableejay TV
4. Zahn Dehyougar, News Director at Magic FM
5. Hogkins Tokpah, Reporter at Wee Radio
According to the Office of the Pro-Tempore, the additional media professionals from Monrovia will join the Grand Bassa delegation as part of a broader team of Liberian journalists selected for the international training program.
The initiative is designed to strengthen the capacity of Liberian journalists through professional development, improve newsroom practices, and expose participants to modern approaches in journalism and media management.
The Office further disclosed that all selected participants are expected to depart Liberia in July 2026 to begin the month-long training program in Nigeria.
The media training program forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance the skills of journalists and promote excellence within Liberia’s media landscape.
