




Monrovia, April 7, 2025 — The Executive Governor of the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL), Hon. Henry F. Saamoi, has reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to supporting regional efforts aimed at strengthening human capital and economic integration. Speaking at the opening of the Regional Course on Economic Issues in Regional Integration, Governor Saamoi hailed the West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management (WAIFEM) as a critical partner in promoting sustainable development through capacity building.
The intensive training, which began this week at the Murex Plaza in Monrovia, is scheduled to run until April 11. Participants from across the region are being equipped with knowledge and tools necessary to confront economic challenges and foster regional integration.
“I implore participants to take this course seriously because of its implications on integration in the region,” Governor Saamoi urged. “This course aims to equip participants with the knowledge needed to address economic challenges we face in the quest for regional integration and advancing intra-African trade.”
He further emphasized that WAIFEM’s role in addressing contemporary policy and development issues is vital for the region’s long-term progress.WAIFEM, a reputable institution in economic and financial training, continues to play a leading role in enhancing technical capacity among West African nations, with strong backing from institutions like the CBL.
As regional cooperation becomes increasingly essential for economic resilience, initiatives like this training program serve as stepping stones toward a more integrated and prosperous West Africa.
