Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has disclosed a significant reduction in the prices of Liberia’s two key staple commodities—rice and flour.
According to the President, the wholesale price of flour has dropped from US$39.00 to US$35.00 per 100-lb bag, marking a US$4.00 reduction.
Likewise, the price of rice has been cut from US$16.75 to US$14.00 per 25kg bag, a decrease of US$2.75.
The announcement comes as a major relief to consumers and businesses across the country, as the Boakai-led administration continues efforts to stabilize the economy and ease the burden of high living costs on ordinary Liberians.
