In a bid to maintain peace among citizens and property owners in Liberia, the Ministry of Public Works has deployed a zonal team to address a significant land dispute among residents in the R2 community.

The acting leadership of the R2 Ocean View Community has decided to foster a strong working relationship with its residents as the community prepares for its first independent election. This effort aims to ensure a harmonious and cooperative environment.

Representing the R2 Ocean View leadership at the land demarcations, Mr. Ernest Lavi Lincoln highlighted the importance of the upcoming election and the community’s role in the district and national development. He stressed that every resident must play their part to support this progress.

Complainer Jartu Sawer explained that since purchasing her land, she has encountered persistent issues with the Brown family. The Browns oppose the creation of a main street, citing their land deed as justification. Sawer emphasized the need for the land to be kept clean and free of debris, a matter she considers crucial.

Sawer also mentioned that the Brown family has threatened legal action. Despite this, she expressed her readiness to face court proceedings if necessary, showing her commitment to resolving the dispute through legal means.

The zonal team from the Ministry of Public Works has decided to postpone the case pending a comprehensive investigation. This move is intended to ensure a fair and thorough examination of the issues at hand.

As the investigation proceeds, the acting leadership continues to urge residents to remain patient and cooperative. This period of scrutiny is seen as essential for reaching a just resolution.

The R2 Ocean View Community remains hopeful that this investigation will lead to a lasting solution, allowing them to move forward with their development plans.
