Liberia National Police Enhances Operations with New Technology..
In a significant step toward modernizing its operations, the Liberia National Police officially received a state-of-the-art digital fingerprint machine yesterday, generously donated by the People’s Republic of China. The new equipment is expected to alleviate the challenges previously faced in fingerprint processing at police headquarters, leading to more efficient operations.
Col. Gregory O. Coleman, Inspector General of the Liberia National Police, highlighted the importance of this advancement, stating that it will significantly streamline the workflow within the LNP.
In addition to the fingerprint machine, the Liberia National Police also announced the launch of an interactive website, developed with the support of the US government and the International Development Law Organization (IDLO). This new platform aims to expedite processes such as police clearance, minimizing excessive interactions that can lead to corruption. The website will also serve as a resource for important information related to public safety and other key areas.
Col. Coleman extended heartfelt gratitude to both the People’s Republic of China and IDLO for their substantial support in enhancing the efficiency and transparency of the Liberia National Police. These initiatives represent a crucial step forward in the modernization of the police force, fostering a more effective and accountable law enforcement environment in Liberia.
