Hon.Samuel D.Tweah Jr. Supports Independent Probe into Nyeswa’s Death…

Hon.Samuel D. Tweah, Jr., former Finance Minister, has issued a public statement welcoming an independent police investigation into the death of Barthan Nyeswa, his dear friend and brother. Nyeswa’s death, along with other deaths, has been politically weaponized, and Tweah hopes that this investigation will help re-establish the facts and clear the air.

Tweah’s statement comes after receiving a call from his brother, Cllr Norris Tweah, informing him that the police were interested in speaking with individuals who were friends with Nyeswa, were with him on the evening prior to the tragic incident, were seen at his house, or visited the JFK Memorial Hospital where he was taken.

“On last Friday, I received a call from my brother Cllr Norris Tweah who informed me that the police were interested in speaking with persons who were either friends with Barthan, who may have been observed with him on the evening prior to his tragic incident, seen at his house, or who may have visited the JFK Memorial Hospital where he had been taken. Norris stated he had already spoken with the police and encouraged me to do the same,” Tweah said in his statement.

Hon.Tweah also shared that upon receiving the initial call from Norris about the incident, he contacted Dr. Williameetta Jallah, the Government’s chief medical official, and Mr. Bill Twehway, another close friend of Nyeswa, to report the incident and coordinate their visit to the JFK Memorial Hospital.

“Upon speaking to the police, I will release publicly the information I avail. I welcome this moment of authentic truth-telling and fact-finding so that the demons of lies, duplicity, and propaganda that have long harried our people over the last six years for political purposes can hopefully and finally be exorcised and laid to rest,” Tweah concluded.
